POTSDAM - Clarkson Universitys Integrated Math and Physics for Entry To Undergraduate STEM Program (IMPETUS) will be celebrating another successful year with its annual roller coaster competition on this Wednesday in the Student Center on the second floor.
Fifty seventh through 12th graders from eight area schools will test table-model roller coasters, which they have been designing and building since November. The model roller coasters will run marbles on their tracks and be judged on factors such as thrills and speed.
Students from Ogdensburg, Madrid-Waddington, St. Lawrence Central, Colton-Pierrepont, Norwood-Norfolk, Potsdam, Heuvelton and Herman-Dekalb schools will participate.
IMPETUS, a program of the St. Lawrence County STEM Partnership, is designed for students who have an interest in math, science and technology.
