MASSENA - Lights. Camera. Action.

A helicopter crew will be filming St. Lawrence Seaway scenes along the St. Lawrence River from Cape Vincent to Massena starting at noon Saturday.

Several townships, villages and organizations along the river have partnered to create promotional DVDs of tourist attractions in the Thousand Islands and Seaway region.

“It will show that it is a very connected region, from Canada to the U.S. side. There are endless things to do and see, from state parks to small towns,” Thomas A. Weldon of 1,000 Island Reflections, which is producing the videos.

The $5,000 producer fee will cover use of the helicopter, the pilot, two camera operators, and the camera equipment. “This weekend is a great time to film,” Mr. Weldon said. “While we are filming several different things are happening: the Clayton craft show, Alex Bay poker run and Brockville (Ontario) is hosting the tall ship regatta.”

Filming will end Tuesday.

Footage can be used for promotional pieces in online venues like YouTube, print advertising and social media, Mr. Weldon said.
