Lancaster, PA- A Mass of Christian Burial for 74-year old Mrs. Nancy L. Sheldon of Lancaster, PA and formerly of Parishville, NY will be held Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at 11 AM at St. Marys Church in Potsdam with Msgr. Robert Aucoin officiating. There are no calling hours. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Parishville.
A reception for friends and family will follow at the Parishville Vol. Firemens field house. If friends desire memorial contributions may be made in Nancys memory to the Parishville Vol. Fire Dept., or Ladies Auxiliary; or to the Parishville AmVets, or Parishville AmVets Auxiliary.
Nancy died at her home in the care of her family and Hospice on June 13, 2013.
Survivors include her husband Rupert Red Sheldon of Lancaster, PA, a daughter and son-in-law Deborah L. and Reginald Reggie Jones of Lancaster, PA, a son Robert F. Sheldon of St. Marys, PA, a son Michael J. Sheldon and daughter-in-law Jennifer Sheldon of Johnsonburg, PA, Nancys mother, Kathryn Hooper of Canton, NY, a sister, Judith Simmons and a brother, John Lunderman, both living in Madrid, NY.
She is also survived by three granddaughters, Keshia Jones and her fiancée Paul Margeson, and TaWanda Jones, all of Landisville, PA, and Alicia Wonderly of Johnsonburg, PA. And by three grandsons Marcus Jones and his fiancée Shanice Johnson of Landisville, PA, Kyle Sheldon and Jacob Sheldon, both of Johnsonburg, PA, one great-grandson Cameron Margeson of Landisville, PA, a brother-in-law and sister-in-law Earl and Celia Sheldon of Parishville, NY, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Nancy was predeceased by her father, Floyd Lunderman, a son, David M. Pickle Sheldon, and a sister Lois Lunderman.
She was born in Potsdam, NY on March 23, 1939 the daughter of Floyd and Kathryn (Hollinger) Lunderman. Nancy attended Parishville High School and later was employed there as a cook for 22 years, retiring in 1998. She was married to Rupert M. Red Sheldon July 31, 1956 in Parishville, NY.
Nancy was a long time member of St. Michaels Catholic Church in Parishville, NY, and a member of the Parishville Vol. Fire Dept. Auxiliary, and the Parishville AmVets Ladies Auxiliary.
She enjoyed spending time with family, reading, quilting, Red Hatters activities, traveling, and volunteer work at the Lebanon Veterans Hospital in Lebanon, PA.
