MENACING - WINTHROP - Massena-based state police charged James E. Markes, 68, of Reservation Street, Winthrop, with second-degree menacing, resisting arrest, second-degree harassment, endangering the welfare of a child and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon. He was arraigned in local court and sent to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility.



PROPERTY DAMAGE ACCIDENTS - MASSENA - State police from around the region investigated a number of property damage accidents Monday and early Tuesday morning. They included:

■ Timothy T. Ramsdell, 20, of Winthrop at 2:55 a.m. Tuesday on County Route 54, near McEwen Road, in the town of Lawrence.

■ Edwin C. Bevins, 26, of Dekalb Junction at 6:50 p.m. Monday on state Route 9, near West Road, in the town of Moira.
