Funeral services for Jeffrey J. Mills, age 61 of Ogdensburg will be held on Tuesday (Aug 6, 2013) at 3:00pm at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home with Rev. F. James Shurtleff officiating. Burial will be at Notre Dame Cemetery.

Calling hours will be held also on Tuesday from 1:00pm until the time of the funeral. Jeffrey passed away on Thursday (Aug 1, 2013) at his home surrounded by his family.

Surviving is his son Jeffery Locarino & his wife Lisa; grandchildren Damion, Ashley, Jeremiah & Isaac Lacarino; his companion Tami (Bresett) LeFevre; a brother Darrell “Pete” Mills; five sisters Cindy Lipinsky & her husband Jerry, JoAnn Douglas & Kayleen Edwards all of Ogdensburg, Kelly Kinch of Saranac, Mia Benjamin & her husband Joe of Canton; a brother Darrell “Drifty” Perrine of Ogdensburg; his “2nd family” of Jeanine Thibert, Marcie Thibert & Danny Thibert along with many nieces, nephews & cousins. He also had a group of very special friends who belonged to the “gentlemen’s club” that met on Fridays. He was predeceased by his parents and a close friend Michael Thibert.

Jeffrey was born on July 27, 1952 in Ogdensburg, NY a son of Darrell “Doc” & Joan (VanFleet) Mills. He graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy and entered the US Army from 1970 to 1977 when he received his honorable discharged. After serving his country, he became employed at Fort Drum where he worked maintenance for a period. In 1978 he then became employed at the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center as a therapy aid until his retirement in 2008. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, attending NASCAR races, his loyal companion dog Missy, his cats Smudge, Placid & Dice, reminiscing about old times, listening to classic rock music and spending time with his special friends and family.
