Massena-Richard F. Garcia, 71 passed away peacefully Saturday afternoonAugust 31, 2013 at his home where he was surrounded by his family and
Hospice. Dick is survived by his wife Linda (Larrow) and two sons; Scott andhis wife Karen Garcia, Jason and his wife Nicole both of Massena. Alsosurviving Richard are his seven grandchildren: Cassidy, Megan, Hannah,Carly, Cameron, Max and Lauren all of Massena. Two brothers, John and wifeFrances of Bloomington, IN; Joseph and wife Katherine of Waddington, NY anda sister Sylvia MacPherson of Bloomington, IN.Richard Graduated from MassenaCentral and shortly afterward enlisted into the US Army. Richard proudlyserved his country during the Vietnam era and was Honorably Discharged. Uponreturning from his military service he began his career at ALCOA where heworked as a millwright, retiring after 39 years. He married his loving wifeLinda on January 25, 1969 at the Church of The Sacred Heart. He was a memberof the local Elks Lodge B.P.O.E #1702 and AMVETS Post #4 as a life member.
Dick enjoyed camping for many years with his family and friends. He was anavid hunter and sportsman where he liked to spend time at his camp locatedin South Colton. Along with playing golf, Dick loved to vacation andspending time in the winter months in Lakeland, FL.
