CANTON A St. Lawrence County grand jury indicted three people Thursday, all on multiple charges of driving while intoxicated.
Cody C. Finton, 31, of 385 Scotch Settlement Rd., Gouverneur, is charged with aggravated DWI and two counts of DWI, all class E felonies.
The indictment alleges that Mr. Finton was driving on Scotch Settlement Road in the town of Gouverneur with a blood alcohol content of 0.20 percent. That is more than twice the state intoxication threshold of 0.08 percent and above the 0.18 percent BAC required for an aggravated DWI charge.
Mr. Finton had been previously convicted for aggravated DWI as a misdemeanor in the town of Gouverneur on May 17, 2007.
Debra L. Ormsbee, 49, of 84 Pollock Rd., Canton, is charged with four counts of aggravated DWI, all class E felonies, and two counts of DWI, both misdemeanors.
Court documents allege that on May 18,on Pollack Road, in the Town of Canton, Ms. Ormsbee was driving with a BAC of 0.15 percent. She is being charged with aggravated DWI under Leandras Law because she had James T. Saber, 15, and Deanna L. Gray, 14, as passengers in the vehicle at the time.
Christy L. Papineau, 34, of 1850 County Route 31, Lisbon, is charged with aggravated DWI and driving while ability impaired by drugs, both class E felonies.
The indictment alleges that on April 29, on King Street in Ogdensburg, Ms. Papineau drove while impaired by THC, also known as tetrahydrocannabinol, the main ingredient in marijuana.
She is being charged with aggravated DWI under Leandras Law because she had Dennis R. Martin, 14, as a passenger in the vehicle at the time.
The St. Lawrence County District Attorneys Office is ready to proceed to trial on all of these cases, according to court documents.
