WELFARE FRAUD - OGDENSBURG — St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department deputies charged Jason M. Gilmour, 38, of 16 Canada Circle, Ogdensburg, with two counts of fourth-degree welfare fraud on Tuesday.

The arrest followed an investigation by the Investigations Unit of the St. Lawrence County Department of Social Services.

It is alleged that Gilmore failed to report income earned to DSS, resulting in him receiving $1,511.60 in Temporary Assistance benefits from Dec. 7, 2009 to Feb. 15, 2010 and $1,456 in food stamp benefits for the period of April 1, 2011 to Aug. 31, 2011 that he was not entitled to.

Gilmour was arraigned in Oswegatchie Town Court and was sent to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility without bail.
