BENCH WARRANT - MASSENA - Village police picked up Eric W. Smith, 21, of 49 1/2 Maple St., Massena, on a bench warrant at 9:46 p.m. Tuesday. The warrant signed Feb. 5 charged Smith had failed to appear as directed on harboring an unlicensed dog, dog at large and failure to vaccinate his dog counts pending in village court. He was arraigned by Massena Village Justice Eric J. Gustafson and released after posting $100 bail.
RESISTING ARREST - MASSENA - Village police charged Terry L. McGregor Jr., 25, of 56 Sycamore St., Massena, with resisting arrest at 12:01 a.m. Wednesday following a stop on the Alcoa Bridge Road. McGregor allegedly fled on foot from police when they were attempting to question him on Oct. 5 on Sycamore Street. He was also picked up on a parole warrant. McGregor was last released from prison on Aug. 6 after completing a 120-day bid in the Willard substance abuse treatment program after he had been returned on a parole violation. McGregor had been convicted on fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property and fifth-degree criminal possession fo a controlled substance counts in April 2011. He had been sentenced to 1 2/3 to 4 years in state prison but placed in a short-term substance abuse treatment program with the opportunity to spend most of his sentence released under community supervision. The maximum expiration date of his sentence in March 1, 2015. He was held in the village lockup overnight and sent to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility on the parole detainer late Wednesday morning.
