DWI - POTSDAM - Village police charged Terry C. Russell Jr., 35, of Madrid with driving while intoxicated and ticketed him for illegally passing a red light and refusing to take a breath test following a traffic stop a 2:40 a.m. Thursday on Maple Street. He reportedly had a blood alcohol content of 0.13 percent. Police said they made the traffic stop after Russell allegedly drove through a steady red light on Sandstone Drive at Pine Street.



AGGRAVATED DWI - POTSDAM - Village police charged Mica P. Gabala, 29, of Gouverneur with aggravated driving while intoxicated and ticketed him for operation of a motor vehicle without insurance, operation of an unregistered motor vehicle and operation of a vehicle with an inadequate exhaust following a traffic stop at 5:16 p.m. Thursday on Main Street. He reportedly had a blood alcohol content of 0.24 percent, three times the threshold for a DWI charge. A DWI is elevated to the more serious offense of aggravated DWI when the BACis 0.18 percent or higher. Police said the traffic stop was made after they observed Gabala eastbound on Main Street operating a vehicle with an inadequate exhaust.



AGGRAVATED UNLICENSED OPERATION - POTSDAM - Village police charged Michael J. Brown, 33, of Massena with second-degree aggravate unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and ticketed him for a red light violation following a traffic stop at 9:19 p.m. Thursday on Market Street.

SPEEDING - POTSDAM - Village police ticketed Tyler G. Scott, 21, of Norwood for speed in zone (49/30 mph zone) at 10:24 p.m. Thursday following a traffic stop on Maple Street.



AGGRAVATED UNLICENSED OPERATION - POTSDAM - Village police charged Anthony R. Belmore, 44, of Norwood with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and ticketed him for making an illegal signal following a traffic stop at 10:58 p.m. Thursday on Elm Street. Police said they made the stop after Belmore allegedly failed to signal when he turned from Market Street onto Elm Street.
