Offense flowed in abundance as Potsdams Bill Corbett Memorial Hockey Tournament concluded at the Pine Street Arena on Saturday. The host Sandstoners held off Auburn 7-6 while Ithaca surged past Canton 5-2 to go 2-0 on the weekend.
At the Jamesville-DeWitt Tournament action Suffern downed Massena 5-1 and Jamesville-DeWitt downed Salmon River 5-1.
In one NAC game Malone nipped the Thousand Islands-Alexandria 2-1.
Potsdam 7 - Auburn 6: The Stoners gained a split at their own tournament riding four goals by Josh Locey, two goals and one assist by Carson Green and Josh Sanchez and three assists by Logan Ford to a 7-3 lead 9:38 into the third period.
Kaiden Tubbet scored three times for Auburn which scored the last three goals of the game with two in the final minute.
Keenan OGorman passed out three assists and Trevor Kelleher and Max Worden added one for the Stoners who received 15 saves from Jake Carey.
Ithaca 5, Canton 2: Cody Moore scored from Mike Huber and Josh Huaitt and Tanner Sanderson connected from Andrew McCormick and Nate Gilson to give Canton a 2-1 lead in the second period. Ithaca rallied on goals by Alex Wolczanski, Nate Walker, Gordon and Dominic Ciccheiti.
Keane Niday had 13 saves for Ithaca. Jake Facey stopped 16 shots for Canton (0-2).
