STRANGULATION - AKWESASNE - St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Police charged Christopher A. Belile, 25, of Hogansburgwith second-degree strangulation, second-degree menacing and endangering the welfare of a child at 5:15 p.m. Dec. 12. He was arraigned in Bombay Town Court and sent to Franklin County Jail with bail set at $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond.



AUO - AKWESASNE - St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Police charged Jolene W. Jackson, 39, of Akwesasne, Que., with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and following too closely at 3:56 p.m. Dec. 11 following a property damage accident on state Route 37. She will answer the charges Jan. 7 in Bombay Town Court.



AUO - AKWESASNE - St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Police charged April M. Burns, 27, of Hogansburgwith first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol content of 0.08 percent or more and driving while intoxicated at 12:41 a.m. Dec. 12. Police allege Burns’s blood alcohol content was 0.13 percent. She was arraigned in Bombay Town Court and was ordered to reappear this week. Upon investigation, police said they learned there was a federal warrant issued by the United State Marshals and would be transferred to Franklin County Jail.



SPEEDING - AKWESASNE - St. Regis Mohawk Tribe ticketed the following motorists for speeding:

Tricia L. Helm, 38, of Moira following a traffic stop at 10:12 p.m. Dec. 10 after she was observed operating a vehicle at 51 mph in a posted 35 mph zone on state Route 37.

Deacon M. Hall, 29, of Hogansburg following a traffic stop at 10:25 p.m. Dec. 10 after he was observed operating a vehicle at 49 mph in a posted 35 mph zone on state Route 37. He was also ticketed for inadequate headlights.

Mallory J.A. Cree, 30, of Hogansburgfollowing a traffic stop at 10:57 p.m. Dec. 10 after she was observed operating a vehicle at 53 mph in a posted 35 mph zone on state Route 37.



INADEQUATE HEADLIGHT - AKWESASNE - St. Regis Mohawk Tribal ticketed Kenneth R. Thomas, 32, of Hogansburgfor inadequate headlights at 9:31 p.m. Dec. 10 after he was observed operating a vehicle with a burned out headlight while traveling on state Route 37.
