MASSENA - State police from around the region responded to a number of accidents around the region on Tuesday, a day when brutal temperatures dipping well into the double digits into the early morning hours was followed by light snowfall for much of the daylight hours in some portions of the area.
■ Troopers said one person was injured in an accident reported at 1:20 p.m. on Route 11, near Brooklyn Road, in the town of Lawrence. Massena-based state police said Troy A. Miller, 29, of 454 Pink Schoolhouse Road, Canton, was eastbound on Route 11 when he lost control of his vehicle, went off the roadway and struck an earthen embankment. He was transported to Canton-Potsdam Hospital by Tri-Town Rescue for treatment for a complaint of severe back pain.
■ Canton-based state police said one person was injured in an accident reported at 2:09 p.m. on Miner Street Road, near the Eddy Pyrites Road, in the town of Canton. Troopers said the vehicle was operated by Matthew S. Ashley, 29, of Dekalb Junction.

Hali Jo Englebert, 18, of Carthage at 4:45 p.m. on County Route 21, near County Route 21A, in the town of Canton.
Guilford David White, 73, of Hogansburg at 2:24 p.m. on state Route 12, near state Route 58, in the town of Morristown.
Michelle Ann Durant, 44, of North Bangor at 8:29 a.m. on County Route 7, near Chandler Road, in the town of Moira.
Stephen M. Leroux, 21, of Fort Covington and Fred A. Wilson, 33, of Moira were involved in a two-vehicle collision at 3:59 p.m. on state Route 95, near Phelps Road, in the town of Moira.
