LOUISVILLE: Ernest J. Schneller, 80 of Tucker Terrace passed away on Dec.21, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Brooklyn, NY on May 27, 1933 to Ernest John and Lena (Wittreich) Schneller.
He proudly served in the United States Navy as an electrician from 1952-1956. After leaving the Navy, he worked for Rheingold Brewery in Long Island, NY, and then was hired by the St. Lawrence Seaway Development Corp. where he worked as an electrician until his retirement. He married Marie Tacchino and they had four children; Tom Schneller, John Schneller, Barb Lashua and Michael Schneller. He married Kay LaShomb Green, who was the love of his life. He is also survived by his five stepchildren, Deborah Fent, Kathy Green, Robert Green, Lori Curran and Michael Green. He has many grandchildren, and great grandchildren that he loved dearly. He was a Life Member of AmVets Post #4 and also a member of the Norwood American Legion.
He took great pride in his naval career and cherished his long time Seaway friendships. For those who knew him well, he was a most generous man with the greatest senses of humor. Those wishing to send memorials may do so to the AmVets Post #4 Color Guard. Graveside services with full military honors will be held in the spring in St. Lawrence Cemetery.
