Funeral services for Hilda M. Brassard-Marion, age 90 of US Hwy 11 Dekalb Jct. and formerly of Washington St. in Ogdensburg will be held at 11:00 am on January 2, 2014 at Foxwood Memorial Park with Deacon Francis Bateman officiating. Mrs. Marion passed away at her residence on Wednesday (Dec 25, 2013).

Surviving is her son Michael Brassard & his wife Judy of Potsdam; a daughter Juanita Brassard of Forrest Hills, NY; step-children Donald Marion & his wife Pam of Loganville, GA and Diane Hebert & her husband Dean of Ogdensburg; a sister Dorothy Wood of Plattsburgh; sister-in-law Dorothy Murphy of Ogdensburg; grandchildren Michael Brassard of New Paltz, NY; Natalie Wylie of Plattsburgh, NY; step-grandchildren Julie Bouchard of Ogdensburg and Christopher Spicer of Waddington; several great-grandchildren along with special caregivers Jim & Johnnie LaRue of Dekalb Jct.

She was predeceased by her husbands George Brassard and Rogarth “Joseph” Marion; a brother Arnold Cross and a sister Albina Vanderbuilt.

Hilda was born on July 05, 1923 in Altona NY, a daughter of the late Nelson & Ellen (Lashway) Cross. She graduated from Altona High School and the St. Lawrence Psychiatric School of Nursing. She married George Brassard on June 15, 1946, he predeceased her on March 27, 1954. She then married Rogarth “Joseph” Marion on Sept 3, 1976, he also predeceased her on August 17, 2005.

During her career she was employed as a registered nurse at the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center where she worked for 30 years. She retired as a nursing supervisor. She was a faithful member of St. Mary’s Cathedral Parish of Ogdensburg and a member of the Hepburn Hospital Ladies Auxiliary.

Hilda took great pride in her nursing career as well as her home and family. She was a kind and loving mother and grandmother and will be truly missed.
