AGGRAVATED DWI - NORFOLK - St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department deputies charged Cooper L. Bond, 21, of 11 South Main St., Norfolk, with aggravated driving while intoxicated and ticketed him for failure to keep right after responding to a one-vehicle accident at 1:49 a.m. Wednesday on West Main Street in the town of Norfolk. Deputies said Bond lost control of his vehicle, exited the left the shoulder of the roadway and struck a snowbank, causing the vehicle to overturn. He reportedly had a blood alcohol content of 0.22 percent, nearly three times the 0.08 percent threshold for a DWI charge. A DWI is upgraded to the more serious offense of aggravated DWI when the blood alcohol content is 0.18 percent or higher. Bond was released on an appearance ticket for Norfolk Town Court.
