Rooseveltown man pays $370 in past fines following arrest on new charge


AGGRAVATED UNLICENSED OPERATION - MASSENA - Massena-based state police charged Adam Ortiz, 27, of Rooseveltown with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and ticketed him for operation of an uninspected motor vehicle at 12:28 p.m. Wednesday following a traffic stop on Rooseveltown Road. He was arraigned by Massena Town Justice Gerald P. Sharlow and released on his own recognizance after paying $370 in fines and surcharges from prior incidents in the town of Massena. He was fined $50 and a $125 surcharge for disorderly conduct and $50 and a $5 surcharge for unlawful possession of marijuana stemming from an incident in July 201. He was also fined $25 and a $55 surcharge for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and ordered to pay a $55 surcharge for operation of an uninspected motor vehicle and a $5 surcharge for a violation of miscellaneous rules stemming from an April 2008 traffic stop.
