CONSPIRACY - MASSENA - Massena-based state police charged Lyndsey M. Prashaw, 31, of 212A Fregoe Road, Massena, and Gregory P. Baxter, 30, of 38 Pine St., Massena, with sixth-degree conspiracy Wednesday following an investigation into a roll over accident that took place at 12:57 a.m. Jan. 1 in the town of Massena. Prashaw was also charged with making a false written statement. Baxter was additionally charged wuth second-degree reckless endangerment, third-degree falsely reporting an incident and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and ticketed for failure to keep right on a two-lane roadway and speed not reasonable and prudent for conditions.
Troopers said Baxter had reported he was the sole occupant of his truck when he reported the accident that night, a position echoed by Prashaw when she was questioned if she and her four-year-old child had been in the vehicle at the time of the accident. She later adnitted she and the child had been involved in the incident. The child was later treated for abrasions he suffered in the rollover, troopers said.
CRIMINAL CONTEMPT - NORFOLK - Massena-based state police charged Elaine A. Frederick, 56, of 4131 state Route 310, Norfolk, with second-degree criminal contempt Wednesday following an investigation into an incident reported at 4:37 p.m. Jan. 5 from the town of Norfolk. She allegedly violated an order of protection issued by St. Lawrence County Family Court when she allowed a child in her custody to have contact with Daniel Frederick.
PROPERTY DAMAGE ACCIDENTS - CANTON - State police from around the region investigated a number of property damage accidents around the region on Wednesday. Among those:
■ Allison M. Campbell, 25, of Massena at 1:20 p.m. on Route 56, near Route 310, in the town of Norfolk.
■ M.J. Zbytniewski, 20, of Newport and David M. Vierich, 32, of Canton were involved in a two-vehicle collision at 3:31 p.m. on Route 11, near Cowan Road, in the town of Canton.
