CHAPIN – Funeral service for Lawrence Albert Kline, 69, of Chapin,will be held Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church, 195 Amicks Ferry Road, Chaplin, SC at 11:00 a.m. with a celebration of life in the fellowship hall immediately following the service. Internment will be at a later date in Connecticut.

Lawrence was born on March 6, 1944 to the late Donald A. and Doris Hawkins Kline and passed away on Thursday, January 2, 2014. He was an Engineering Technician who worked on jet engines for Pratt and Whitney. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, VFW and the American Legion. He was a proud Navy Veteran of Vietnam and an avid Hunter and Fisherman.

Lawrence “Larry” is survived by his daughter, Katherine Hoadley and son-in-law Michael Hoadley of Irmo; sister Donna Lalonde and Brother-in-Law, Jack Lalonde of NY; his niece Jazan Tozier of NY; his nephew, Derek Lalonde of WI, and Carl and Adele Hoadley. He is predeceased by his wife, Gail S. Hurst-Kline; son, Al Kline; parents, Donald A Kline and Doris I Kline; in-laws, Alvin Hurst and Grace Hurst and brother, James Kline. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Autism Speaks, St. Lawrence-Lewis BOC, 30 Court Street, Canton, NY 13617 for his great-nephew Talon Tozier or to ALS Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, 15300 Ventura Boulevard, Suite 35, Sherman Oaks, CA 91403 to honor his late father-in-law, Al Hurst. Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Chapin Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
