Potsdam man faces aggravated DWI charge

AGGRAVATED DWI - POTSDAM - Village police charged Craig D. Fortune, 23, of Potsdam with aggravated driving while intoxicated at 2:25 a.m. Thursday following a traffic stop on Market Street. He was also ticketed for making an illegal u turn. Police said they made the stop after observing Fortune make the u turn. He reportedly had a blood alcohol content of 0.19 percent, more than double the legal limit. A DWI charge is elevated to the more serious aggravated DWI count when the blood alcohol content is 0.18 percent or higher. The threshold for a DWI charge is 0.08 percent.
