Two injured in Brasher Center accident


BRASHER CENTER - Two people were injured Friday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash on County Route 53 in Brasher Center.

Massena-based state police said William E. Roberts, 70, of 14761 state Route 37, Massena, was traveling on County Route 50 when a vehicle operated by Devon C. Garrow, 39, of 39 Rooseveltown Road, Massena, traveling on County Route 38, failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection and collided with the Roberts vehicle.

Garrow was ticketed for speed not reasonable and prudent and failure to stop at a stop sign following the 4:21 p.m. Friday accident. He was transported to Massena Memorial Hospital by Tri-Town Rescue for treatment of complaints of neck, shoulder and knee pain.

A passenger in the Roberts vehicle, George A. Roberts, 48, also of 14761 state Route 37, Massena, was transported to Massena Memorial by Tri-Town Rescue for treatment of back, neck and shoulder pain.

The Brasher-Winthrop Fire Department also assisted at the accident scene.
