Massena man jailed on parole warrant

PAROLE WARRANT - MASSENA - Village police picked up James Waite Jr., 46, of 193 Center St., Apt. 8, Massena, at his residence at 1:51 p.m. Monday on a parole warrant issued by the state’ Department of Corrections and Community Supervision. Police and Massena Rescue had been toned out at 9:48 a.m. Friday to a report of a 46-year-old male that was unresponsive and suffered from an alleged heroin overdose at his apartment, according to 911 radio transmission to emergency responders. That male then left Massena Memorial Hospital prior to being released by medical professionals. Waite had been sentenced to 1 2/3 to 3 3/4 years in state prison in April 2010 following convictions in St. Lawrence County Court for second-degree criminal possession of marijuana and fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property. He was last released under parole supervision on Nov. 29, 2013. Waite was transported to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility Monday afternoon pending a parole hearing.
