PETIT LARCENY - POTSDAM - Village police charged Matthew J. Gasparek, 20, of Jordan, Onondaga County, with petit larceny and unlawful possession of alcohol by a person under 21 early Friday.

Police said they responded to a call from Stewart’s Shop on Maple Street that a man stole a 12-pack of beer.

Police said Clarkson University safety and security officers helped them locate Gasparek and the beer at 12:54 a.m. on campus.

Gasparek is scheduled to appear Jan. 31 in Potsdam Village Court.

1438 Patrol dispatched to a property damage hit and run accident at a business on Market Street.

1753 The owner of a black lab/pit bull mix contacted the police department to report that the dog got out of his vehicle on Clarkson Avenue, and he has been unable to locate it. The department fielded the sighting of an animal matching that description in area of Burger King and Arby’s.

1849 Fielded a complaint of public lewdness in the parking lot of a Maple Street business. Patrols responded to investigate.

1854 Patrols responded for the report of alarm complications on Madrid Avenue.

1955 Received a report of a dog running in the roadway on Market Street near Sunoco. Patrols responded.
