MASSENA - The Friends of the Robert Moses State Park Nature Center, Inc., in Massena have re-opened most all of their ski and snowshoe trails now that we have a new layer of fluffy snow.
The trails had been unusable recently due to the dangerous hard ice and ruts. Unfortunately, the outer Pine Loop is still closed. Visitors are asked to use snowshoes or skis and not walk in boots on the trail. This will prevent boot holes, which can make skiing difficult.
Cross-country ski sets and snowshoes are available to rent for only $4 a pair. Rentals are available, weather permitting, from 9 a.m, – 3 p.m. daily. Visitors are asked to call or check the Friends Facebook page for trail conditions before coming out.
The Nature Centers phone number is 315-705-5022, email is email@example.com and their Facebook page is: The Friends of the Robert Moses State Park Nature Center, Inc.
Program information, brochures and calendar of events can be found on the Friends website also at: www.massenanaturecenter.org .
