Louisville- Nola K. Martin, 70, of the Browning Rd. Louisville passed away at her home early Monday (January 20, 2014) morning surrounded by her family and Hospice. Family and friends are invited to call Friday (January 24, 2014) from 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. at the Emmanuel Congregational Church, Massena. A funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday (January 25, 2014) at the Emmanuel Congregational Church with Rev. Judy Van Kennan officiating. Burial will take place in Pine Grove Cemetery Norfolk in the spring at the convenience of the family. Nola was born in Massena to the late Minnie (Haney) and Lester Moses on May 26, 1943. She belonged to the Massena Central graduating class of ‘61. She married her husband Roger M. Martin on September 1, 1962 at the Emmanuel Congregational Church with the Rev. Carleton Opdyke presiding. Nola was once employed at the Free Trader, where she helped publish the classified edition for over 16 years. Nola went on to work for the Massena Memorial Hospital Foundation as Director. She enjoyed golfing and snowshoeing. She was an avid reader and was very active in the Emmanuel Congregational Church. She also enjoyed the company of her three dogs, Clancy, Nicodemus and Misty. Nola is survived by her husband Roger M. Martin of Massena, and her sons Todd and wife Kelly of Niagara Falls, NY; and Brent and wife Sharmela of Massena. Also surviving are two grandchildren Christopher and Lacey Martin and two great-grandchildren, Brandon and Destiny Kemp. A sister Norma Stone of Massena and many nieces and nephews. Nola is predeceased by a brother Dr. Wayne T. Moses and sisters Virginia Countryman and Betty Murray. Contributions may be made in Nola’s memory to Hope Lodge-American Cancer Society; 237 East Ave, Burlington, VT 05401, Hospice and Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley or the Emmanuel Congregational Church.
