POTSDAM - The Northern Symphonic Winds recently donated $500 to the Canton-Potsdam Hospital Foundation from funds raised at a benefit concert held at SUNY Potsdam last fall.

Their contribution will be used for the new Urgent Care Center at Canton-Potsdam Hospital’s Cheel Medical Campus, which is slated to open within the next few months. This was the second concert the Northern Symphonic Winds had performed for the Hospital Foundation.

The Hospital Foundation exists to raise and manage funds for the sole benefit of the patients served by Canton-Potsdam Hospital. Last year more than 900 donors contributed more than $671,000. Donations may be mailed to the Foundationor made online at www.cphospital.org.

The 50 members of Northern Symphonic Winds all donate their time and talents to the ensemble. Their next concert, a free “faculty showcase,” is at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 31 in Hosmer Hall on the SUNY Potsdam Campus.
