Ogdensburg man arrested for third-degree burglary in Massena

MASSENA - Village police charged Terry D. Power, 32, of 300 Franklin St., Ogdensburg, with two counts of third-degree burglary and petit larceny and a single count of sixth-degree conspiracy following two shoplifting complaints at the Massena Walmart - one on Sunday night and a previous incident in November.

Power had previously been banned from the Walmart store, so because he was trespassing at the store the petit larceny counts were elevated to felony burglary charges.

He was arraigned by Massena Town Justice Gerald P. Sharlow and sent to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility with bail set at $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond.

Walmart officials had told Power in August 2012 he would be charged with trespassing if he entered the Massena store again.

Police allege Power, working with another person, stole a generator on Nov. 18 and then walked past the store’s last point of sale Sunday night without paying for a generator valued at $499.
