DWI - MASSENA - Massena-based state police charged Donald J. Beckstead, 45, of Massena with driving while intoxicated, refusal to take a breath test and consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle on a public highway following a traffic stop at 10:12 p.m. Tuesday on state Route 420 in the town of Massena. He was also ticketed for making an illegal signal.

BURGLARY - MOIRA - Malone-based state police said they charged Danny S. French, 23, of Fort Covington with third-degree burglary on Jan. 25.

Troopers said when they attempted to arrest French he fled on foot and was apprehended.

State police said the arrest stems from a burglary investigation reported on July 8, 2013 that occurred at a vacant building on state Route 95 in Moira.

Troopers allege French forced entry and stole copper piping. His identity was determined through DNA evidence that was found at the scene.

French was found in possession of a small quantity of marijuana when he was taken into custody.

He was additionally charged with resisting arrest and unlawful possession of marijuana.

He was arraigned in town of Moira Court and sent to the Franklin County Jail with bail set at $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond.

PROPERTY DAMAGE ACCIDENTS - CANTON - State police from around the region investigated a number of property damage accidents Tuesday. Among those:

■ Kristin A. McKie, 34, of Canton at 7:15 p.m. on Miner Street Road, near Taylor Park Road, in the town of Canton.

■ Maggie Sue Elliot, 20, of Canton at 9:02 a.m. on Port Kent Road, near Mill Street, in the town of Dickinson.

■ Nora E. Elmer, 68, of Bombay at 6:16 p.m. on state Route 95, near Cold Springs Road, in the town of Bombay.
