BURGLARY - MASSENA - Canton-based state police charged Deshelia R. Thomas-Jandrew, 38, of 144 South Raquette Road, Massena, with third-degree burglary stemming from an investigation into a Nov. 30, 2012 burglary at a residence in the town of Colton. She told troopers she had driven her son, Austin Villnave, and his friend, Andrew Jensen, to the friend’s grandparent’s property on Leary Road in the town of Colton. The elder Mr. Jensen, Andrew T., lives in Zephyr Hills, Fla. She told troopers she dropped the two men off at the residence and saw them climb in through a window to enter the garage. She said she noticed a broken window in the garage after she had seen previous the two men attempting to get into the garage. Thomas-Jandrew said the two men were inside the garage for a period of time before they eventually returned to her vehicle.

“They did not have anything on them. I asked Andrew if he broke the window, and he said yes but not on purpose. He may have been bleeding a little bit. I asked them what they were looking for and Andrew said money. I originally thought I was taking them out there to get money from Andrew’s grandparents, I did not know they had gone away,” Thomas-Jandrew told state police investigators.

Thomas-Jandrew was arraigned by Massena Town Justice Gerald P. Sharlow and released under the supervision of the probation department.
