Funeral services for James Willard, age 69, of East Road, Heuvelton, will be held on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at Frary Funeral Home with Rev. Walter Smith, officiating. Burial will be held at Purmort Cemetery in Depeyster in the spring. Calling hours will be held on Monday, February 3, 2014 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Mr. Willard passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Syracuse. Mr. Willard is survived by his four sons, Clark and his wife, Tina, Ogdensburg, Mark and his wife, Jenn, of Ogdensburg, Chris and his wife, Amy, of Parishville, and James, Jr. of Heuvelton; two daughters, Peggy Willard of Tennessee and Arleena McDougal of Ogdensburg; his mother-in-law, Thelma Morehouse, Ogdensburg; three brothers, Robert of Heuvelton, Charles and his wife, Carol, of Mississippi, and Walter and his companion, Kathy McPherson of Rensselaer Falls; twenty-seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He was predeceased by four brothers, Tom, Donald, Leonard and William; and one sister, Nina Borgeson.

He married Sheila Morehouse on December 24, 1965 at the Methodist Church in Ogdensburg with Rev. Kendall Scouter officiating.

Mr. Willard was born in Depeyster on August 30, 1944, the son of Walter and Emma June Pike Willard. He attended local schools. He was a truck driver, first as a milk hauler and later drove tractor trailer. He worked for Local 687 Teamsters.
