NORWOOD - The Seaway Career & Technical Education Center in Norwood is pleased to announce Dylan Casselman as the Potsdam Rotary Club Student of the Month for January 2014.

Dylan, enrolled in the Environmental Technology Program, is a student at Massena Central School and the son of Janet McGregor.

As a student in Environmental Technology, Dylan is involved in operating and repairing equipment such as chainsaws and tractors. He also has been practicing for his Commercial Driver’s License on a commercial motor vehicle.

Upon completion of this program, Dylan will be able to enter college with credits he earned from Articulation Agreements BOCES has with some colleges. He will also have the option of joining the workforce in a variety of fields with entry level skills. These fields include landscaping, small engine repair, equipment repair, construction, road construction and all varieties of forestry employment.

The instructor, Gene Mullaney, has said the following about Dylan: “Dylan is a good worker who gets along with others. He is well mannered, polite and confident. Dylan will be a good employee or possibly even an employer someday and enjoys working with equipment. Dylan has passed his Commercial Driver’s Permit Test and is currently practicing for his road test. Dylan is also currently attending work based learning at St. Lawrence Timber.”
