Massena – Scott C. Billings, 36 of Isabel Street passed away unexpectedly Friday evening (Feb. 7, 2014) at his home. Friends and family may call Tuesday February 11, 2014 from 12 noon until 3:00 P.M at the Phillips Memorial Home in Waddington. A service then will be held at 3:00 p.m. with Lay Speaker Larry E. Smith officiating. Burial will take place in the spring at Martin Cemetery, Lisbon.
Scott was born May 19, 1977 in Ogdensburg, the son of Lynn and Deborah (Rayburn) Billings. He graduated from Madrid-Waddington Central High School in 1992. Scott then attended Morisville College followed by Canton ATC where he got his degree in residential construction. Scott worked at Alcoa for several years as a machine operator. He was a very active member of the Massena Volunteer Fire Department where he was lieutenant. Scott was also a past member of West Potsdam and Madrid fire departments. He enjoyed ice fishing, hunting, playing hockey and spending time with his two brothers.
Scott is survived by his parents, Lynn and Deborah Billings of Waddington; two brothers, Kevin and Andrea Billings of Waddington, Steven and Paige Billings of Chase Mills ; grandparents, Floyd and Freda Billings, Elizabeth Rayburn both of Lisbon; several nieces and nephews; many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by a grandfather Harold Rayburn. Memorial contributions may be made to the Massena Volunteer Fire Department in Scotts memory.
