CRIMINAL CONTEMPT - MASSENA - Massena-based state police charged Michael J. Brock, 27, of Potsdam with second-degree criminal contempt following a traffic stop at 10:46 a.m. Monday on state Route 420 in the village of Massena.

Brock allegedly violated a temporary stay away order of protection signed by Potsdam Village Court on Jan. 17 by being in the same vehicle Monday morning as the protected party, Roxanne L. Vallance. That order expires on May 30.

The order had bene issued after Brock had been charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief, second-degree harassment and endangering the welfare of a child following a domestic dispute Jan. 17 on Debra Drive in the village of Potsdam.

Brock was arraigned by Acting Massena Village Justice James M. Crandall and released after posting $400 cash bail. He also pleaded guilty to a speeding ticket that had been pending since a July 13 traffic stop on the South Raquette Road and was fined $90 and an $85 surcharge.
