ISSUING A BAD CHECK - POTSDAM Village police charged Heather Merrill, 31, of Canton on Saturday night with five counts of issuing a bad check.
Police said Merrills arrest followed the investigation of bad checks that were issued at local businesses.
She was arraigned in Potsdam Village Court and released under supervision of the probation department.
DWI - POTSDAM Village police charged Michael P. DiLorenzo, 23, of Phoenix, with driving while intoxicated following a traffic stop at 1:52 a.m. Friday.
Police said DiLorenzo was also ticketed for a window tint violation and opration of a vehicle with inadequate headlights.
His blood alcohol content was reportedly 0.12 percent, police said.Under state law, a BAC of 0.08 percent or higher constitutes proof of intoxication.
CELL PHONE - POTSDAM - Village police ticketed Samuel T. Horan, 20, of Medfield, Mass., for operating a motor vehicle while using a cell phone at 12:26 p.m. Saturday following a traffic stop on Market Street.
FAILURE TO YIELD - POTSDAM - Village police ticketed William L. Parker, 23, of St. Regis Fallsfor failure to yield rightof way at 9:20 p.m. Saturday after he was allegedly observed turning from Market Street onto Sandstone Drive without yielding to oncoming traffic causing another motorist to take evasive action to avoid a collision with Parkers vehicle.
