Massena-Elwyn “Bud” G. Jackson, 85 formerly of North Raquette River Road passed away peacefully Friday (Feb. 21, 2014) at the St. Regis Nursing Home with his loving wife Beverly by his side. Friends and family are invited to call Wednesday (Feb. 26, 2014) from 2-3 PM at the Phillips Memorial Home, Massena. A memorial service will immediately follow at 3:00 PM with Pastor Clifford Boice officiating. Bud was born June 28, 1928 in Watertown, NY to the late Glenn and Catherine (Gibson) Jackson. He graduated from Dexter High School in 1945. Bud proudly served his country during WWII as military police in the Army while being stationed in Japan. Elwyn married Alice Gilbert who predeceased him. He then married Beverly Ashley on June 9, 2004 at Grace United Methodist Church with Rev. James Barnes officiating. Bud worked at GM as a tool-die maker retiring in 1982. He had a love for classic cars and was often seen reading various car magazines and working on model cars. Bud enjoyed puttering around his yard and loved listening to Johnny Cash as well as playing his guitar. On Sundays, Bud could be found in the den watching NASCAR. Elwyn is survived by his wife and 2 children; Holly (Steve) Rainville of Massena, Stephen Jackson of CT; 5 stepdaughters, Cathy Marich, Denise Baxter and Joni (Joe) Catanzarite all of Massena, Mary Lynn Griffith of Ogdensburg, Susan Smith of Raleigh, NC; 10 step-grandchildren; 12 step-great grandchildren. Bud was predeceased by a sister and a daughter Jeanette McCarthy. Memorial contributions may be made in Buds name to the Activities Department at the St. Regis Nursing Home.
