ASSAULT - POTSDAM - Village police reported Friday they had charged Kajay T. Piggee, 20, of Fort Drum with third-degree assault - intent to cause physical injury at 2:15a.m. Feb. 23 following an investigation into an incident at a Market Street establishment. Police said they had received a complaint that a male had been struck in the head at a downtown establishment but when they arrived at the establishmentthe suspect had fled the scene. Piggee was located on Maple Street, where he was taken into custody, police said. He was processed and released to a third party pending a March court appearance in Potsdam Village Court.



CELL PHONE - POTSDAM - Village police ticketed Tia M. Burks, 30, of Potsdam for use of a portable electronic device at 12:14 p.m. Thursday following a traffic stop on Market Street.



SPEEDING - POTSDAM - Village police ticketed William S. Yette, 18, of Potsdam for speed in zone (50/30) at 11:59 p.m. Thursday following a traffic stop on Outer Maple Street.
