William Loeble Sammons, 93, of Williamsburg, VA, died on February 24, 2014.
He was born and raised in Troy, NY, graduated from Williams College and MIT in electrical engineering. He married Rosanne Haffner of Frederick, MD. His very successful business career spanned forty years with Carrier Air Conditioning Corporation in many locations and positions.
Following retirement, he and his wife, Kristan Rodger Sammons, were significantly involved with the International Executive Service Corps in Costa Rica, Siberia, and Kuwait and made lifelong friendships. Bill also continued to use his experience in business as a corporate director of Parkervision Inc. of Jacksonville, FL, from 1993-2010.
For over half a century he enjoyed sailing, especially on Lake Ontario, and later the pleasures of living on the St. Lawrence River near Ogdensburg, NY.
He is survived by Kristan, his son William A. H. Sammons, MD., and his grandson William M.W. Sammons, of Massachusetts, and his daughter, Jamie S. Chase of Delaware and her husband, Bruce, their son, Christopher, and his family.
