Kandy K. McCormick


Kandy K. McCormick, age 56 of Chippewa Creek Rd Hammond, passed away Thursday (Feb 20, 2014) at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse. Kandy has donated her body to the anatomical gift program at Suny Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse. A celebration of her life will be held on March 8, 2014 at 1:00pm at the First Congregational Church in Brier Hill with Pastor David Sheppard officiating.

Surviving are her two sisters Patricia Knorr & her husband Colin of Redwood, Renee Gladle & her husband Robert of Hammond along with many nieces, nephews & cousins which include her special niece Sarah Bartlett of Redwood.

She was predeceased by her three children Jason, Vicki & Rhonda Farley along with her brother Clifford ‘Bob” McCormick.

Kandy was born on May 8, 1957 in Alexandria Bay NY, a daughter of Clifford & Elva (Dillon) McCormick. She attended Hammond Central School and then married Robert Farley in May of 1976. Although the couple’s marriage ended, they remained friends over the years.

During her career she was employed at Acco Brands and performed custodial work for the town of Hammond, Hammond Central Schools and area homes in Chippewa Bay and Hammond for several years. Kandy was a member of the Rebecca Lodge, Theresa bowling and pool leagues and the First Congregational Church of Morristown. She enjoyed bird watching, working in her flower beds, sitting by the camp fire and spending time with family and friends. Kandy will be remember by her motto, “Here for a good time, not a long time”.
