CRIMINAL CONTEMPT - MASSENA - A Massena man was jailed Sunday after he allegedly violated an order of protection that directed him not to harass or alarm the protected party.
Massena-based state police charged Michael J. Riley, 26, of 2224 state Route 420, Massena, with a felony count of first-degree criminal contempt following an investigation into an incident that reportedly took place at 3:10 a.m. Sunday when he allegedly chest bumped and pushed Jordan White during an argument at 169 Fayette Road in the town of Norfolk. His actions reportedly violated a no harassment order of protection from Brasher Town Court that remains in effect through 2015.
Riley was arraigned by Massena Town Justice Gerald P. Sharlow and sent to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility with bail set at $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond. He is scheduled to reappear at a later date in Norfolk Town Court.
