PARISHVILLE - The community will have the opportunity to experience some music and skits, as well as a bevy of delectable desserts, Friday evening at the Parishville-Hopkinton Central School.
The schools theater group, the PHCS Follies, will be putting on a cabaret fundraiser from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the cafeteria, with tickets available at the door for $5.
All of the proceeds will go to the Follies for their year round operations.
Were hoping to raise enough for another microphone or additional music costumes, music and vocal teacher Andrea Ellison said. Weve had it the last three years. The students do songs and skits throughout the night. With the cost of the tickets you get a free dessert as well. We are having two or three types of cheesecakes, red velvet cake and peanut butter cup cake. We will have something for everyone with the desserts.
Ms. Ellison noted that the organization and running of the fundraiser is far from a solo effort.
(Music Director) Don Cannamela will be running the technical side of things, and we are working with Jennifer Blevins and Pamela Todd, she explained. Jennifer is the stage manager, and Pamela has been with the organization for a long time and will be running the kitchen.
Additionally, for the first time in the events brief history, the Follies will be teaming up with the Crane School of Music in the operation of the fundraiser.
This year we are fortunate enough to be joined by the Phi Mu Alpha fraternity and the Sigma Alpha Lota sorority from the Crane School of Music. They will be doing some community outreach and help serve and sing with us. It will be pretty cool, Ms. Ellison said.
