Funeral services for Gary J. Wallace, age 63 of Alexandria, VA and formerly of Heuvelton will be held privately at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home with Rev. Walter Smith officiating. Burial will be in the spring at Campbell/Flackville Cemetery in Lisbon. Mr. Wallace passed away on March 2, 2014 at the Inova Hospital in Falls Church, VA following complications from a stroke earlier in February.

Surviving are three brothers David Wallace of Ogdensburg, Stephen Wallace & his wife Barbara of Heuvelton, Michael Wallace of Colton; two sisters Elizabeth Kuhl & her husband Gerald of Croghan and Michele James of Canton; a niece Lori-Ann (Wallace) Harvey and her husband Donald of Milford; a nephew James Wallace & his wife Kristen of Heuvelton; grandnephews Nicholas Wallace and Bryce Harvey; along with many friends and co-workers especially John & Arlene Neppel of New Jersey, Ted & Theresa Lange of S. Riding VA and Billy Gabriel of Alexandria, VA and several aunts, uncles & cousins.

Gary was born on May 30, 1950 in Ogdensburg NY, a son of the late Darwin & Rosemary (Stoffel) Wallace. He graduated from Lisbon Central High School and continued his education at State University College at Potsdam where he received a degree in computer engineering. He then entered in the US Air Force in 1975. He was commissioned as an officer in 1978 and in 1986 he received his honorable discharge with the rank of Captain. He then became employed at Unisys Corp. as a Senior Programmer Analyst, INDUS Corporation as a Database Administrator, AB Floyd Enterprises, Inc., and finally Digital Management Incorporation as a Senior Systems Engineer.

Gary was the recipient of the INDUS Excellence Award in 2008 and enjoyed collecting movies, DVDs, comic books, coins, John Deere memorabilia, reading and trivia of all kinds.
