Kenneth M. Tebeau, 86, of Duane, N.Y., passed away early Saturday morning, March 8, 2014, at the Franklin County Nursing Home, in Malone, N.Y. He had been a resident there since Oct. 30, 2013.

Born in Moira, N.Y., Nov. 23, 1927, he was the son of the late Ralph and Dorothy Hinkson Tebeau. He attended local schools. He served in the United States Army from 1945 until his honorable discharge in 1947.

For more than 37 years, Ken was employed by Alcoa in Massena, N.Y., in the maintenance department as a heavy equipment operator. He retired in 1989.

He was a member of the Alcoa 25-Year Club, the Massena Lodge 513 F and AM, the Massena and Malone American Legion, the Duane Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department and the Best Hunting Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading and watching golf.

On Oct. 3, 1952, he was united in marriage to the former Phyllis Tiernan at the Methodist Church in Massena. She survives.

Along with his wife, Phyllis, he is survived by one son, Douglas Tebeau of Duane; one brother, Leland Tebeau of Chateaugay, N.Y.; one sister and brother in law, Janice and Gary Sharland of Malone; three grandchildren, Melissa, Chad and Sean; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by three brothers, Richard, Howard and Harold Tebeau.

Calling hours will be Wednesday from 9 until 11 a.m. at the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home in Malone. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Billy Bond officiating. Burial will be in the Ladd Cemetery in Duane in the spring.

Donations may be made in his memory to the Duane Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department.

Arrangements are through the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Service Inc. of Malone, N.Y.
