Tri-Town Pee Wees return home as Northeast Regional champions


CRANSTON, R.I. - The Tri-Town 12U pee wees were crowned the Tier III Northeast Region champions after downing Avon (Connecticut) 5-1 in the championship game of a tournament with state champions from Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut and New York.

Logan Shantie (2 goals), Jan Robertson (1 g 2 a), Payton Felix (1g 1a) and Noah Adams (1g 1a) paced the balanced Tri-Town offense. Carter Rose and Kaleb Rathbun added assists for the winners.

Tri-Town scored once in the first period and put the game out of reach with a three-goal second period enroute to the regional title.

Rico Dimatteo had 15 saves before being relieved in the third period by Torran Robertson, who had three saves.

The Tri-Town Timberwolves had goals from five different players to earn a trip to the Tier III Northeast Regional U12 championship game.

Grant Taylor, Jarrett St. Hilaire, Carter Rose, Jah Robertson (1g-2a) and Payton Felix (1g-1a) scored the Tri-Town goals. John Sullivan chipped in with an assist.

Rico DiMatteo had 12 saves and Torran Robertson added another five stops in a relief effort in Tri-Town’s 5-1 victory over the Portland Jr. Pirates (Maine).
