SNOWBOARDER DIES - WHITEFACE MOUNTAIN - Raybrook-based state police said they received a call at approximately 12:26 p.m. Sunday from Essex County 911 reporting an injured snowboarder at Whiteface Mountain Ski Center.

Austin P. White, 22, of Hemlock was snowboarding when he ran off the trail called Excelsior near the intersection of Lower Northway into a wooded area, striking a tree, trooper said.

White was transported by Wilmington Ambulance to Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake, where he was pronounced dead at 1:12 p.m.

An autopsy will be conducted on Mondayby Dr. C. Francis Varga, state police said

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF - COLTON - Canton-based state police charged Polly A. Prior. 45, of Colton with fourth-degree criminal mischief at 12:10 a.m. Monday following an investigation into a domestic dispute reported Sunday from the town of Colton.

PROHIBITED SALE - CANTON - Gouverneur-based state police charged Nicole L. Whitcomb, 23, of Star Lake with prohibited sale of alcoholic beverages at 7:03 p.m. Sunday following an incident at Mountain Mart, 103 East Main St., Canton.

ENDANGERING THE WELFARE - BRANDON - Malone-based state police charged Charles Jarvis, 20, of Moira with endangering the welfare of a child following an incident reported at 5:08 p.m. Sunday from the town of Brandon. The arrest ewas made at 9:37 p.m. Sunday at 174 County Ropute 8, Moira.

MENACING - FORT COVINGTON - Malone-based state police charged Derek M. Mainville, 18, of Fort Covington with second-degree menacing - weapon and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon following an investigation into a domestic incident reported to troopers at 11:27 a.m. Sunday from the town of Fort Covington.
