Whoever ends up buying Oscar’s bar and restaurant in the on-going online auction hosted by Collar City Auctions Realty and Management, Delanson, will have their work cut out for them.

Auctioneer Randy Passonno, who is operating the auction on behalf of NBT Bank, the company that owns the building, said, “The building needs renovation.”

The auction began on Monday and closes March 29.

Mr. Passonno said prospective bidders will have an opportunity to walk through the building on March 27 from noon to 3 p.m.

More details can be found online at www.collarcityauctions.com.

The building, located at 1222 Ford St., has been vacant since the spring of 2012 when former owner John C. Tulip closed the bar citing higher-than-expected operating costs.

Mr. Passonno said, “The kitchen is outdated, the bar is outdated. It needs someone to go in there and give it an overhaul.”

Located along one of the main drags in Ogdensburg, Mr. Passonno said the building “has a tremendous amount of potential.”

The bar will be sold to the highest bidder with removal scheduled for April 2 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
