TWO INJURED - MASSENA - Massena-based state police ticketed Girard N. Hamel, 85, of Cornwall, Ont., for a red light violation following a two-vehicle accident at 4:40 p.m. Sunday near the St. Lawrence Centre mall. Hamel collided with a vehicle on state Route 37 being operated by Tia Bauersfeld, 24, of Kahnawake, Que. A passenger in Bauersfeld’s vehicle, Daylin T. Oakes, 27, of Akwesasne and Mr. Hamel were transported to Massena Memorial Hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the accident. Troopers were assisted at the accident scene by Massena Fire, Massena Rescue and Seaway Valley Ambulance.



HEAD ON COLLISION - MASSENA - One person was transported to Massena Memorial Hospital Sunday afternoon for what was reported as a head on collision at 3:54 p.m. on the Pontoon Bridge Road in the town of Massena.

Massena-based state police said Ryan J. LaBaff, 18, of Massena collided with a vehicle being operated by Peter G. Skomsky, 53, of Massena. A passenger in Skomsky’s vehicle, Philip T. Horsley, 53, of Massena, was transported to Massena Memorial Hospital by Massena Rescue for treatment of injuries he sustained in the accident.

LaBaff was ticketed for failure to keep right.



PROPERTY DAMAGE ACCIDENT - GOUVERNEUR - State police from around the region investigated several accidents on Sunday. Among those:

■ Bobbie J. Bessette, 30, of Canton and Dorothea S. Gelb, 22, of New York City were involved in a two-vehicle property damage accident at 2:06 p.m. on East Main at Factory Street in the village of Gouverneur.
