Parishville man added to town board

PARISHVILLE - Lester Gale has been appointed to the Parishville Town Board, effective April 1.

Mr. Gale recently sent a letter of interest to town officials and was in attendance for Tuesday’s regular board meeting.

The Parishville resident fills the void left when the town board appointed then Councilman Rodney G. Votra to the town supervisor’s post. Mr. Votra was named the new supervisor earlier this month after Jerry G. Moore announced his resignation at the end of February.

“I was born and raised in Potsdam and have lived in Parishville for over five years. I’ve worked for Mort Backus and Sons in Ogdensburg for about 11 years,” Mr. Gale said. “I’ve always been interested in what goes on in the community and with the town boards, seeing how things work and things of that nature.”

Mr. Gale noted that due to a recent injury he is currently on worker’s compensation and will be getting permission from his physician before joining the town board.
