POTSDAM - The Potsdam Central duo of sophomore Kalie Grant and senior Annette Rishe turned out to be too much for Heuvelton Central to handle in an NAC varsity girls lacrosse matchup at the SUNY Potsdam turf field on Friday.

Both players accounted for all the offense produced by the Lady Sandstoners, who steadily pulled away to a 13-4 decision over the Lady Bulldogs for their second win in four days. Grant generated seven goals and four assists while Rishe tallied the other six goals and helped set up three others as Potsdam raced out to a quick 4-0 lead before back-to-back goals by Jackie Sovie cut the deficit to 4-2 with 11 minutes left in the first half.

The Lady Sandstoners countered by scoring the next six goals of the first half in building a commanding 10-2 halftime lead.

Sovie finished with three goals in the losing effort while Maddie St. Pierre netted a singleton to close out the Heuvelton scoresheet.

Katelyn Bloom turned aside five of the shots she faced backstopping the win while Heather Thomas made four saves for the Lady Bulldogs, who were making their season debut.
