POTSDAM - SUNY Potsdam’s eighth annual Relay For Life will be held from 6:30 p.m.Friday to 7 a.m. Saturday at SUNY Potsdam’s Maxcy Fieldhouse.

There is a $20 registration fee (all money is a donation to the event).

For more information, contact Alex Allen, team development chair, at allenaw191@potsdam.edu, visit www.relayforlife.org/sunypotsdamny or search Facebook for “SUNY Potsdam Relay For Life 2014”

Relay For Life is an overnight, non-competitive walking or running event to fight cancer. Teams raise money before the Relay and then come to the event to camp out and walk the track relay-style keeping one member on the track at all times.

All money raised goes to the American Cancer Society.

Last year, they had over 800 people in attendance. Participants and teams include clubs/organizations, students, faculty/staff, alumni, and community members.

To date, SUNY Potsdam’s event has donated over $300,000 to the American Cancer Society. This year’s theme is Wizard of Oz, so the activities, food, games, and decorations will reflect the Land of Oz.

Anyone is welcome to attend, but there is a $20 registration fee (all money is a donation to the event). Cancer survivors do not have to pay the fee and will receive a free shirt for attending. For more information or to make a donation, visit the website at www.relayforlife.org/sunypotsdamny.
