FAILURE TO YIELD - MASSENA - A Massena man, his wife and child were injured Friday afternoon after their pickup truck collided with a tractor trailer on state Route 37 at the International Bridge Road in the town of Massena.
Massena-based state police said Christopher M. Eggleston, 36, of 28 Ober St., Massena, was eastbound when he made a left turn to head onto the International Bridge when he pulled into the path of a westbound Freightliner operated by Fred J. Chrisman, 49, of Herkimer.
Police said Eggleston was transported to Massena Memorial Hospital for treatment of neck and back pain. Julie A. Eggleston, 37, was transported to the hospital with complains of clavicle and lower abdominal pain. Thomas H. Eggleston, 9, was also transported to Massena Memorial for treatment of leg pain.
Mr. Eggleston was ticketed for failure to yield the right of way on a left turn. Troopers said both drivers had a green light on Route 37, but the Massena man did not make the turn with a green arrow. His 2010 Toyota Tundra was towed from the scene.
Troopers were assisted at the scene by Massena Fire, Massena Rescue and Akwesasne Mohawk Rescue.
ASSAULT - OSWEGATCHIE - Ogdensburg-based state police charged Andrew A. Ashley, 41, of Ogdensburg with third-degree assault following an investigation into a domestic dispute reported to troopers at 10:13 p.m. Friday from the town of Oswegatchie.
